We regularly conduct research studies with cochlear implant listeners and older adults who have normal hearing. We particularly require participants who use the Nucleus cochlear implant. Our studies are conducted in the Phillips Communication Sciences building (PCSB) on the Storrs campus, with convenient parking provided.
If you are interested in participating in these studies, we would love to hear from you and would be grateful if you would complete the form below. We will use the information you provide on this form to get in touch with you and to provide updates about planned studies. We will treat your information with respect and will not share it with third parties. If you are interested in participating in a particular study, we will send you a participant information sheet that describes the study in more detail, and states what benefits there may be to you if you participate, and what the risks are. All participants must give written consent to participate in a study, but may withdraw this consent at any time without giving a reason. Furthermore, all studies are approved in advance by the Institution Research Board (IRB) at the University of Connecticut.
Please contact us if you have any questions about what to expect when participating in general in our research studies.
